247Sports released their most ferocious college linebackers for 2024, with Oklahoma football megastar Danny Stutsman placing near the top of the ranks. Brad Crawford, the mastermind behind the list released on Wednesday, ranked the ten most ferocious linebackers in college football, emphasizing the importance of playing sideline to sideline while getting after the passer.

With the significance of versatile linebackers in today’s game, their appearance on this list is a nod to the players’ exceptional style of play and production. Stutsman, Oklahoma’s leader on defense, ranks third on Crawford’s list.

Crawford, a college football insider for 247Sports, speaks highly of Oklahoma star linebacker Danny Stutsman, his third most ferocious linebacker of 2024. Stutsman, who decided to skip the NFL to return to Norman, received high praise from Crawford. The college football insider said, “Stutsman has been the backbone of Oklahoma’s defense the last two years, both on and off the field, since Brent Venables took over as Sooners head coach. The 6-foot-4, 236-pounder out of Windermere, Fla., has led Oklahoma in tackles each of the last two seasons, with 125 total tackles as a sophomore — tops in the Big 12 — followed by 99 total stops as a junior this fall, despite missing one-and-a-half games due to an ankle injury.”

Stutsman has anchored Oklahoma’s defense since 2022. He followed up his 125-tackle sophomore season with 104 tackles, three sacks, one interception, three passes defended, and 16 TFLs last year. Backed by Stutsman’s elite numbers, the Sooners made massive strides on defense last season. The Sooners allowed just 23.5 points per game, the 49th-best mark in college football. Stutsman, alongside standout defensive back Billy Bowman, will lead Oklahoma into the SEC next season.

LSU’s Harold Perkins beat out Oklahoma football star Danny Stutsman for the most ferocious linebacker for the upcoming season, per 247Sports’ Brad Crawford. The true junior had 75 tackles, 13 TFLs, 5.5 sacks, and one interception in 2023. Despite his efforts, the Tigers allowed 28 points per game last season, one of the worst averages in the SEC.

Clemson Tigers linebacker Barrett Carter finished between Stutsman and Perkins on Crawford’s list. Last year, Carter posted 62 tackles, 9.5 sacks, TFLs, 3.5 sacks, and five passes defended in 12 games for Clemson. Other notables on the top ten most ferocious linebackers of 2024 are Georgia’s Jalon Walker, Notre Dame’s Jack Kiser, and Alabama’s Deontae Lawson.
